Lutwyche Medical Centre is pleased to announce that we are now a SmartClinics Family Medical Centre. While our name has now changed to SmartClinics, you can still see your regular Doctor at the clinic and we will continue to provide you and your family with the same high qualify healthcare services.

AND A NEW ADDRESS!

In mid-July our clinic will be relocating to a brand new custom designed clinic located up on level 4 in the Lutwyche City Shopping Centre. You can find our new clinic by taking the lift near Coles to level 4 or use the stairs that are located on level 3 near the Tobacconist.

Bulk billing is available to children aged 15 years and under. Pensioners and Health Care Card holders receive a discount from the standard consultation price.

Exception to the above for children is on Saturday, where all appointments are not bulk billed.

MEDICARE REBATES CAN BE RECEIVED ON THE SPOT. No more going to Medicare to claim your rebate. No more FORMS, QUEUES or WORRIES.

The friendly reception staff will help you to claim your rebate at the end of your consultation.

The rebate can only be transferred into a cheque or savings account. All you need to have is a valid debit card and to remember your PIN.

So reception staff can help to limit your waiting time please make the appropriate appointment time. More than one concern to discuss with the doctor will require a long appointment being made.

This is a private billing practice, which uses AMA fees as a guide.

At the doctors discretion fees may be reduced for those who are financially disadvantaged.

The staff will provide you with a full list of fees.

Should your doctor refer you to a specialist or for investigations fees may apply.

In our practice, we apply penalties if patients miss or cancel three appointments, such penalties include payment of a fee billed as per the doctor.

+ Appointments

All consultations are normally by appointments.

First available doctor sees urgent cases.

If your doctor is not available or booked out we recommend you see one of our other doctors to ensure continuity of care.

Consultations are booked at 15 minute intervals, longer appointments can be requested.

A separate appointment for each member of the family to be seen should generally be booked.

+ Telephone calls

Telephone calls will be triaged by the nursing staff, where necessary calls will be referred to the doctor.

To minimise interruptions to consultations, you may be required to leave your contact numbers and a message and your doctor will return your call at their earliest convenience.

+ Results

Our doctors’ policy is that your results are best discussed in consultation.

Please make an appointment to see your doctor after tests have been performed.

The results of all tests are viewed by your normal doctor.

+ Recall reminder service

All patients are offered the opportunity of being in a reminder system for a range of clinical issues.

You are automatically placed on the National/State/Territory reminder systems unless you state otherwise.

Nobody likes to be kept waiting! Our staff understands and we try to manage all appointments as punctually as possible. However, due to the unpredictable nature of a medical surgery – doctors do frequently run behind time. We regret any inconvenience caused due to these delays. Please feel free to contact our surgery staff to confirm whether your doctor is running on time BEFORE you arrive for your appointment.
